Public Letter
We would like to present the following initiative of
Geneva Research Collaboration Foundation:
We are willing to set up 7 small grants aimed at
developing research in the following scientific fields: econophysics,
application of mathematical statistics methods, application of methods of
analysis and modeling of complex stochastic and social objects and
systems.
Given the current financial standing of the Foundation, we are willing to
provide 7 grants of 6000 CHF each. The overall programme budget totals 42000
CHF.
Taking into consideration the Foundation’s relations with its partners,
we would like to allocate 2 of the above grants for researches associated with
Geneva
University, 4 of the above
grants for unpaid researchers associated with CERN and 1 of the above grants for
researchers associated with Banque Cantonale de
Genève.
We do not want to attach conditions to provision of the grants. Grant recipients are free to select the
subject of their research by themselves.
Their suggestions regarding the subject and plan of their research work
must be submitted at a research meeting of Geneva Research Collaboration
Foundation for final approval.
Within the framework of the grant programme the Foundation intends to
provide 4 equal installments of 1500 CHF each every three months for each
grant. The only formality on which
these payments are conditional is reporting on the results of research work
sponsored by the grants at special research
seminars.
Selection of candidates for the grants can be as
follows:
- 2 grants for researchers
associated with Geneva
University are awarded at the
discretion of the University
- 4 grants for CERN-associated unpaid researchers are
awarded at the discretion of Geneva Research Collaboration Foundation
- 1 grant for researchers associated with Banque Cantonale
de Genève is awarded at the discretion of Banque Cantonale de
Genève
