On Thursday 24 January Prof. Ilya Prigogine Nobel Laureate in chemistry visited Geneva just before his 85th birthday  and delivered a lecture for physicists and bankers at CERN.   Below you can see the photo-gallery of some interesting moments of that day as seen by our photographer.

No time for rest - to work at once! In the morning Prof. Ilya Prigogine organized a business reception at his hotel to study the results of work of Dukascopy Research Group which applies and develops some of his theoretical results on points of bifurcation in the behaviour of complex systems. A sightseeing tour around Geneva will have to wait till later.

	The object in Prigogine’s hands is a Geiger counter. Another illustration of Professor’s wide interests: from predicting fluctuations of the cosmic rays and the use of physical theories to forecast market prices.

	Ilya Prigogine (who has the title of Viscount in Belgium) is an attentive and graceful listener. No doubt a sign of a real nobleman.
