The affiliation programme of the Geneva Research Collaboration
(GRC) has the purpose of providing research institutions and groups the
opportunity to participate in the development of a common research agenda
through information exchanges, publications, seminars and joint projects. The
affiliated members benefit from mutual support and information exchange with
other group members, joint promotion efforts, access to a wide audience of
researchers and practitioners around the world, assistance in finding financial
support, administrative issues. We stress that this is an open international
structure that welcomes research groups from a variety of countries, backgrounds
and profiles. It is also our goal to assist specific groups within the
collaboration in obtaining research grants. In the end of the day the real
benefit derived from the collaboration should accrue to each and every
member.
The only requirement for joining the affiliation is that a
clear and concise description of relevant research activities is provided,
including the involved researchers and resources. Upon joining, active
participation in the work of collaboration is expected from the affiliated
members.
With regards to financial and other support, funds for the
initial stage of GRC activities for 2001/2002 have been already secured. In the
future, support of the initiative will be provided by all members in proportion
to their financial, administrative or other capabilities. We also foresee a
joint decision-making procedure on the most important issues of the
collaboration’s activities and development.
