The Geneva Reseach Collaboration (GRC) is a non-profit
organization located in Geneva. The Executive Director of GRC is Dr. Allan
Din and the President of the International Scientific Advisory Board is Prof.
Michel Maignan, representing the Banque Cantonale de Genève.
Geneva Research Collaboration has the main objective of
establishing an international and creative research framework for developing and
disseminating new mathematical and physical models in natural and social
sciences, in general, and in environmental and economic sciences and information
systems, in particular.
A succinct statement of the research perspective of GRC is
given in the following quotation extracted from the memorandum signed by several
well-known personalities and drafted on the occasion of Nobel Laureate Ilya
Prigogine's jubilee lecture organized jointly by CERN and GRC in January 2002:
When posing the question of the future of science, one should
not forget that we are only at the beginning of the adventure. We are witnessing
the emergence of a science which is not limited to simplistic situations but
which is directly confronted with the complexity of the real world." In these
terms, Ilya Prigogine was introducing the reader of the book "La fin des
certitudes" to his novel description of the interaction between mathematics and
physics in the development of our ideas on nature.
